This large historic cemetery on Brisbane's inner southern suburb of Morningside is the final resting place of many of the city's famous early residents. In the 140 or so years since its establishment in 1874, the Balmoral cemetery's 15 acres have gained over 15, 270 internments.
Balmoral offers monumental burial sites which allow 2 burials as well as ashes interment.
Reuse or additions to existing family graves is also possible where the grave has space (less than 2) or the last burial was more than 30 years ago. This service is only available for direct descendants or those related to the burial right holder.
Monumental burials feature graves with a headstone or gravestone crafted from granite, marble, sandstone or concrete. An authorised monumental mason, such as MMS Memorials, must carry out all stone masonry work and installations at Balmoral Cemetery.
MMS Memorials offer a range of services at this historic cemetery.
