Reusing a family grave
Preparing a grave for a test dig
Most cemeteries throughout Brisbane, Ipswich, the Gold and Sunshine Coast offer the re-use of family graves in lawn, monumental, and historic cemeteries. Reusing your family gravesite is often a lovely tradition as well as an economical burial option.

Preparing the memorial
Established graves can often be used for family burials or placement of cremation ashes depending on the room available and the cemetery guidelines.
If a grave is classed as full but the last burial was more than 30 years ago a test dig may be carried out to find out if another burial or ashes interment in the grave is possible. The cemetery administration will let you know if a test dig is required.
If your family grave is a monumental style with a cement or stone grave top you will need a monumental stonemason to remove the top prior to the dig and then replace it afterwards.
Our stonemasons will ensure the stone is removed carefully protecting and supporting the surrounding stone structure
