The beautiful, historic Bald Hills Cemetery, located in Brisbane's northern suburb of Bracken Ridge, is over 140 years old. The graveyard, also known as Sandgate cemetery, features 5 acres of monumental and lawn burial sites.
New burial sites are available in both areas of the cemetery.
Bald Hills Cemetery lawn area features lawn beam style burials that incorporate a bronze plaque set on a granite or concrete base, placed on a common beam of concrete. The beam can be used for the placement of floral tributes, removing the need to move flowers for mowing.
Monumental burials feature graves with headstones or gravestones crafted from granite, marble, sandstone or concrete. A limited amount of monumental burials are available at Bald Hills' historic cemetery.
An authorised monumental stonemason, such as MMS Memorials, must carry out the construction and placement of the stone memorial. Your stonemason will apply for the permits necessary for the work within the council cemetery.
Reuse of family graves may be available where the grave still has space or is considered full (3 burials) but the last burial was more than 30 years ago. Grave reuse information can be found on the Brisbane City Council website here - Family grave re-use
